What does each Base44 plan include?
Base44's free plan carries 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month across up to 5 apps, with no GitHub sync, no code download and no custom domain. Starter, from $16 a month billed annually for 100 message credits, adds in-app code edits, a custom domain and AI model selection. Builder, from $40 a month billed annually for 250 message credits, adds two-way GitHub sync and a ZIP export of the source. Pro and Elite, from $80 and $160 a month billed annually, raise the message credits to 500 and 1,200. The prices Base44 shows by default are annual-billing figures, so a month-to-month bill is higher.
How does code ownership compare?
On Free and Starter, a Base44 app's code stays inside Base44. From Builder upward it syncs both ways with GitHub and exports as a ZIP — which is more than Buildra offers on one axis, because Buildra's mirror runs one direction only: a push you make on GitHub does not come back into Buildra, and Buildra does not open branches or pull requests or run CI for you. What Buildra offers is that the mirror and the source download are there from the free tier, and that a project can start from a repository you already have on GitHub.
When is Base44 the better choice?
When you want to keep building in the builder and also edit the same code on GitHub, and you are willing to pay for Builder to get it: two-way sync is the right shape for that and Buildra does not have it. Base44 is also the right call if a custom domain on the first paid plan is what you need and code download is not. Buildra's case is narrower: the code is yours from the first commit on the free tier, the dashboard is in English, Arabic, Spanish and French, and Buildra builds phone apps and uploads them to App Store Connect and Google Play for you on a paid plan, from your own developer accounts.
