Changelog

Custom Domains Return

• Owners on Starter and up (any paid plan) can connect their own domain to a published web app
• Add a CNAME record pointing to sites.buildra.page and a TXT record that proves you own the domain
• HTTPS is issued automatically
• Free sites keep their <label>.buildra.page address

Signing In Picks Up Where You Left Off

• The sign-in page carries on with what you started on buildra.dev
• Reset a forgotten password straight from the sign-in page
• An earlier session's conversation stays visible above the current one

GitHub App Import and Plan Mode

• Import an existing GitHub repository by connecting the Buildra GitHub App, with read-only access, instead of pasting a token
• Plan mode: a Plan switch, the plan in its own panel with a checklist, and nothing changes until you approve it
• The agent's questions arrive one at a time, in place of the message box
• On free-plan sites, the Made with Buildra badge lets visitors remix the project when its owner allows it — they get a copy of the code, never the conversation

Connect Your Own AI Agent

• A remote MCP server at mcp.buildra.dev: agents such as Claude or ChatGPT can create projects, send messages, read previews and publish on your behalf
• OAuth consent you approve, and a Connected agents list in Settings where any connection can be revoked

Publish to buildra.page, Point at the Preview

• Publish to a buildra.page address from the same screen
• Point at part of the preview and ask for a change to exactly that
• Design directions to choose from, shown in the preview pane
• Phone projects open on your own phone by scanning an Expo Go QR code
• A share sheet for preview links

The Prompt Picks the Template

• Your first message chooses the starting point: TanStack Start for web apps, Next.js when you ask for it, Expo for phone apps, Phaser for browser games, Hono for APIs, or a plain project
• Phone projects preview on two phone frames with real viewports
• The dashboard in English, Arabic, Spanish and French

Buildra, Rebuilt Around an Agent

• Create a project by describing it: an AI agent builds it in its own runner while you watch the preview
• Download a project's source, and optionally mirror every commit to a GitHub repository you own

Every Published Site Is Now a Way In

• Published sites on the free plan now carry a small "Edit with Buildra" pill in the corner — anyone who likes what they see can click it and start building
• Click it on your own site and you land straight in your project, exactly where you left off
• Click it on someone else's and you get your own copy to edit, extend, and publish — their original is never touched, and your copy gets its own data so nothing you do reaches theirs
• Come back to the same link later and you're taken to the copy you already made, rather than piling up new ones
• Pro sites publish clean, with no pill at all — and so does any site on your own custom domain, whatever plan you're on
• The pill is added when your site is built and published, so it never clutters your code

Mobile Apps: Describe It, Then Hold It in Your Hand

• Describe a mobile app the way you always describe an app — "a habit tracker with streaks" — and Buildra builds a real React Native app with Expo, not a website squeezed into a phone shape
• Your app previews at phone size right in the workspace, so you're looking at the thing you're actually building from the first message
• Scan the QR code with Expo Go (the free app from the App Store or Play Store) and your app opens on your own phone — real touches, real scrolling, real keyboard
• Keep chatting and your phone keeps up: every edit appears on the device within seconds, no rebuild, no reinstall
• Everything else works exactly as you'd expect — same chat, same live preview, same project history — so a mobile app is just another Buildra project
• Available on every plan, Free and Pro, in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic

Plans Are Now Free to Ask For

• Planning a new app no longer creates anything: no project, no workspace, and no daily project slot is used until you approve the plan — reviewing an idea is free thinking, not a commitment
• Approving the plan is what creates the project and starts the build of exactly what you approved
• While the plan is being drawn up, the workspace now says so — no more construction animation for a turn that writes no code
• If a request can't go through (like hitting the free plan's daily project limit), you now get a clear card saying what happened, when a slot frees up, and how to get back to your existing project — instead of a screen that never answers
• Open tabs now notice when a newer version of Buildra has shipped and offer a one-tap refresh

Plan Mode: Approve the Plan Before a Single Block Is Laid

• A new "Plan first" mode in the composer: describe what you want and your crew studies your project, then shows you a numbered plan — what will be built, step by step, with the files it touches and any risks called out
• Nothing is built until you approve. One tap on “Approve & lay the blocks” starts the build of exactly that plan
• Not quite right? Request changes in plain words and the crew revises the plan before building — as many rounds as you need
• Ask mode also got sharper: questions about your project are now answered read-only, so asking can never change your code
• Works on new projects and existing ones, in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic

One-Tap Feedback on Your Preview

• A quick thumbs-up / thumbs-down now appears on your app preview shortly after it loads — one tap to tell us how the build went
• Your rating goes straight to the founder and decides what gets fixed first; builds that miss the mark get a personal follow-up
• Quiet by design: it shows once per project, never covers your app's controls, and disappears the moment you answer or dismiss it
• Available in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic

Build in Any Framework

• Create apps in Vue, Svelte, Astro, and Solid — not just React. Just ask ("build a Vue dashboard") and Buildra scaffolds a real app in that framework
• Every framework boots on a live preview with the AI already building on top of it
• React and Next.js still use the instant-start templates; other frameworks scaffold on demand (Pro)

Import from GitHub

• Import an existing GitHub repository and keep building it with AI — public repos on any plan's flow, private repos once you connect GitHub (Pro)
• Connect your GitHub account in Settings → Linked accounts to import private repositories
• Broad framework support on import: Next.js, Vite, SvelteKit, Nuxt, Astro, Remix, Angular, Gatsby, Solid, and Node backends
• Paste a repo URL straight into the chat and Buildra offers to import it — no separate form
• Databases are provisioned automatically for imported apps that need Postgres

No longer in Buildra: Apps in the rebuilt Buildra use a Cloudflare D1 database, not Postgres.

Custom Domains

• Connect your own domain to any published site (Pro) — www.yourdomain.com instead of yourapp.buildra.page
• Automatic SSL certificates, issued and renewed for free — just add one CNAME record
• Live domain status right in the Publish menu: DNS detection and certificate progress update on their own
• The 'Made with Buildra' badge now follows your plan automatically on upgrade or downgrade

No longer in Buildra: Custom domains did not carry over to the rebuilt Buildra in August 2026. They returned on October 2, 2026 for Starter and up.

Publish to buildra.page

• One-click publishing for every plan: your app goes live at yourapp.buildra.page — free tier included
• Atomic versioned publishes — a failed upload can never break your live site, and republishing is instant
• Full single-page-app routing support and immutable asset caching for fast loads worldwide
• Free plan includes 1 live site; Pro includes 25

No longer in Buildra: The 1-site and 25-site limits belong to the earlier version.

Smarter First Builds

• Fixed over-eager build confirmation: simple prompts like a landing page no longer get flagged as needing a backend — they just build
• Upgraded the AI engine to the latest generation (AI SDK v7) for more reliable multi-step builds
• More dependable billing and account emails (upgrade confirmations, payment issue alerts)

Buildra is Live

• AI-powered app generation from natural language prompts
• Support for React, Next.js, and Hono backends
• Live preview with real-time cloud rendering
• One-click deploy to production URLs
• GitHub import — connect repos and get AI suggestions
• Conversation history with rollback and forking
• Free and Pro plans with credit-based billing
• Multi-language support: English, French, Spanish, Arabic
• PostHog analytics integration
• Stripe billing with credit system

Pre-launch Polish

• Email confirmation flow for account security
• Password reset with email verification
• Improved signup flow with pending prompt preservation
• Privacy policy and legal pages
• SEO optimization with JSON-LD structured data

Core Pipeline

• Hybrid codegen: templates for 80%, bounded LLM for 20%
• Multi-stage validation pipeline for build reliability
• Pre-built monorepo skeletons (Next.js, Vite, Hono)
• Freestyle Sandboxes integration for deployment
• Credit transaction ledger for billing transparency

No longer in Buildra: This pipeline belonged to the earlier version. Since August 2026 an agent builds each app in its own runner.
